Industrial Hygiene and Safety Consultant

Emilcott, the leading EH&S consulting firm in the Northeast, is recruiting for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an IH and Safety Professional. Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, this individual will be responsible for providing EH&S technical support to a variety of clients, such as industrial and commercial facilities, and construction and hazardous waste sites. Working across industry groups with our Directors and Project Managers, the IH and Safety Professional would be primarily responsible for delivery of services and associated reports. As the position progresses professional responsibilities may include business development, writing proposals, budgeting, and invoicing. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for client projects in all areas of EHS compliance
  • Perform field tasks such as Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) investigations, Industrial Hygiene (IH) sampling and exposure monitoring, and Health & Safety programmatic oversight
  • Provide OSHA compliance assistance and safety management at project locations
  • Assist with field reports and final work product – collect and provide project feedback as needed
  • Provide project coordination and management support – interact with clients
  • Develop and deliver EHS training courses for clients when necessary

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in the areas of industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and commercial building life safety
  • Excellent communication skills, highly motivated individualBasic EHS knowledge and experience in areas of building construction and maintenance (highly desired) and industry safety, hazardous waste, IH and/or emergency response
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite which includes, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Be a critical thinker and a problem solver
  • Work schedule and location varies based on client’s needs. As with most consultancies, evening, overnight, weekend and on-call hours are occasionally required.
  • Travel into New York City and surrounding metro area is frequently required.
  • BS or BA in an Applied Science, Public Health or Environmental Science
  • Licensing/certifications as an Asbestos Building Inspector, NYC Asbestos Investigator, NYS Air Sampling Technician/Project Monitor, Lead Based Paint Inspector/Risk Assessor, and/or NY Mold Assessor a plus

Entry Level Industrial Hygiene and Safety Professional

Industrial Hygiene & Safety Professional EHS Services

We are looking for an Industrial Hygiene & Safety Professional (EHS Services) to join our Consulting team in either Wall Township or Morristown, New Jersey. This is a great opportunity for a certified professional to gain a broad range of experience working on a variety of projects, servicing clients across several industry sectors. In this role, you will have an emphasis on Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ.) The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with asbestos, mold/moisture, lead based paint, vapor intrusion, building construction and building mechanical systems. You will provide technical support for client projects in all areas of EHS compliance and be responsible for delivery of a variety of projects across a diverse span of industry sectors, as well as playing a key role in assisting clients in the following areas: IEQ investigations, IH sampling, exposure monitoring and Health & Safety oversight. May assist with field reports and final work product, provide project feedback, and contribute to the development and delivery of EHS training courses.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science, Public Health or related discipline along with 3-5 years of work experience as an EHS professional; military experience is a plus. Licenses preferred (Building Inspection, Asbestos Investigator, Air Sampling, Lead Based Paint/Mold Assessor.) Technical aptitude is essential for success, along with a positive, can-do attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work well on a team.
