Flagger Safety Training

Who Should Attend?
Flagger Safety training is designed for those individuals who are responsible for safely controlling vehicular and pedestrian in work zones.

Learning Objectives
A flagger has a big responsibility, not only to the work crew, but also to the public. A good flag person needs to understand the hazards they face and how to deal with them. Proper signaling is a must, as is the selection and use of personal protective equipment and traffic control devices. This course focuses on the safety of the flagger and work crew and effectively warning motorists and pedestrians travelling through the work zone. Setting up traffic patterns or the use of traffic control devices to control vehicular traffic outside the work zone is beyond the scope of this training. This course is based on the National Safety Council protocols and is a comprehensive skill-building session that meets federal industry guidelines: the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) guidelines and the ANSI standard ISEA-107-1999.
