New Requirements from US Dept. of Homeland Security

The US Department of Homeland Security released the CFATS "Chemicals of Interest List, Appendix A" on November 2, 2007.  Facilities that have the listed chemicals at or above the threshold limits must complete and submit a Top-Screen Assessment to DHS within 60 calendar days of the publication of the Appendix in the Federal Register.

For additional information and a copy of the Appendix go to  http://www.dhs.gov/xprevprot/programs/gc_1169501486179.shtm

The pre-publication copy of the final Appendix A on DHS's website is for information purposes only.  Appendix A will become legally effective on the day it is published in the Federal Register. Any potentially affected stakeholder should rely only on the Federal Register version of Appendix A for legal purposes. The deadline in the Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standard (CFATS) interim final rule for submission of "Top Screens" required by 6 CFR § 27.210(a)(1)(i) will be 60 calendar days from the date of publication of Appendix A in the Federal Register.
