Bloomsbury and Annandale, New Jersey & California
Emilcott developed and presented a 16-Hour Line Supervisor Safety Management Training Course to Medarex supervisors at their NJ and California locations.  The objective of the training is to give line supervisors an overall understanding of OSHA requirements, their responsibilities under the Medarex Health and Safety Programs, and basic health and safety skills.  The courses consist of modules geared towards specific health and safety related tasks and the supervisor’s role and responsibilities. These sessions include methods to involve the supervisor, such as workshops, problem solving, and discussion groups. Advanced Industrial Hygiene Courses and HazWOPER
US Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventative Medicine
Landstuhl, Germany
The U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventative Medicine (CHPPM) asked Emilcott to provide advanced health and safety training courses to a response group supporting peace-keeping troops in Bosnia, Kosova and Kuwait.  While army personnel are highly trained to protect themselves in the case of nuclear, chemical or biological warfare, they found themselves unprepared for the hazards they were encountering on the many destroyed industrial sites in these countries.  Emilcott provided these five customized courses from 1998-2002 to help the Army perform its peace-keeping missions safely.  Course included: Advanced Direct-Reading Environmental Health Instrumentation; Indoor Environmental Quality - Microbiological Contamination; Advanced Respiratory Protection; Asbestos Inspection and Management; and Health and Safety for Hazardous Waste Operations.  Since 2000, Emilcott has returned to Germany each year to conduct the HazWOPER and Asbestos Management courses.
