What You Will Learn
This training will provide valuable information needed to maintain a safe work place and reduce the risk of a very serious accident. You will be trained on the Electrical Safety Work Practices as required by OSHA as well as how to use the NFPA 70 E standard as a reference document for conducting hazard assessments and selecting personal protective equipment.  Participants will learn about the hazards of electricity as well as proper procedures, appropriate tools and personal protective equipment to be used around electrical systems. The course includes a discussion on the proper use of portable electrical equipment and the use of GFCI.  Students will also learn how NFPA 70 E relates to the OSHA requirements including details on the additional training requirements for employees who need to be “qualified” to work on or near exposed energized parts.

Who Should Attend?
Employees who face a risk of electrical shock or other electrical hazards as part of their job must receive training in electrical safety-related work practices under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.332. This course meets the OSHA training requirements for unqualified employees who face the risk of electrical shock from working around equipment that is not reduced to a safe level.  Unqualified employees include: supervisors, managers, and their employees such as electricians, electrical and electronic engineers, assemblers and technicians, mechanics, painters, welders, industrial machine operators and material handling equipment operators, and all others who work around (or are responsible for employees who work around) energized electrical systems.
