What You Will Learn
In the First Aid portion of this course attendees will learn how to identify and care for bleeding, sudden illnesses, and injuries in emergency situation, such as how to treat trauma, laceration, puncture wounds, burns, fractures and sprains, cold exposure and heat exhaustion. What to do in cases of spinal injury will be discussed. The CPR portion will show attendees how to properly deal with breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. There are sessions detailing how to perform one-rescuer CPR and rescue breathing, and how to manage choking in a conscious person. The Automated External Defibrillator portion of the program details key operating characteristics and shows you proper precautions and maintenance techniques. It explains how AEDs work and why they're a critical part of emergency cardiac care. Techniques for preventing disease transmission will also be covered.
Who Should Attend?
This training is for anyone who needs or wants to learn Standard First Aid, CPR & AED such as facility emergency response teams, safety personnel, supervisors, or other individuals requiring certification. Certification in these skills is often required under certain government contracts.
This course will conveniently be offered the Friday following our 40-Hour HazWOPER courses in July, Sept & Nov.
