What You Will Learn
This course will go into detail about the regulatory requirements and elements of ER (emergency response) planning, including an understanding of the Incident Command System. You will learn about chemical and physical hazards, and health and safety controls. Emphasis will be given to ER strategies regarding containment zones, diking, isolation, decontamination, operations and termination procedures. Participants who successfully complete the course will be certified as having met the requirements of a First Responder – Operations Level.
Who Should Attend?
This training is the minimum requirement for anyone who has been designated as a Responder to a hazardous materials leak or spill, but who will ONLY respond in a defensive manner (to control but NOT stop a leak or spill). This course is for all plant, facilities or site personnel involved in the response to Hazardous Materials emergencies, such as part of a HazMat Team.
